Rectangular Potentials in a Semi-Harmonic Background: Spectrum, Resonances and Dwell Time

We study the energy properties of a particle in one dimensional semi-harmonic rectangular wells and barriers. The integration of energies is obtained by solving a simple transcendental equation. Scattering states are shown to include cases in which the impinging particle is 'captured' by the semi-harmonic rectangular potentials. The 'time of capture' is connected with the dwell time of the scattered wave. Using the particle absorption method, it is shown that the dwell time $\tau^a_D$ coincides with the phase time $\tau_W$ of Eisenbud and Wigner, calculated as the energy derivative of the reflected wave phase shift. Analytical expressions are derived for the phase time $\tau_W$ of the semi-harmonic delta well and barrier potentials

En este trabajo se muestra el desarrollo de una propuesta de enseñanza sobre pensamiento numérico con estudiantes indígenas Embera-Chamí de Risaralda, Colombia. Esta cultura es ancestralmente oral, por lo que se dificulta trabajar con la grafía del sistema decimal usado por la cultura de Occidente, que es una cultura con escritura. Se hizo un acercamiento a través de elementos del sistema numérico de la cultura Maya- K’iché de Guatemala, el cual tiene una base metafórica sobre su mitología sagrada, y se identifica con la cosmovisión de la cultura Embera en varios aspectos

Algunas influencias culturales en el desarrollo de pensamiento matemático

La Matemática, como ciencia, es un constructo cultural y por tanto, es posible estudiarse como un fenómeno comunicativo; pero también, como componente importante de una cultura, la forma de expresar el pensamiento matemático es propio de cada cultura y por tanto, no se puede hablar de la Matemática como un único lenguaje, o como un constructo universal, estático y único de toda la humanidad, sino que se debe hablar de ella, como las diferentes formas con que cada cultura ha construido un sistema simbólico dinámico con el cual expresa la filosofía de vida que caracteriza su subjetividad. Se pretende mostrar algunos aspectos que desde lo cultural han influido sobre el desarrollo de pensamiento matemático en la cultura de Occidente

How triathletes mount their bikes after first transition (T1). A proposal of classification

A proposal is submit for the classification referring to the different ways in which triathletes mount their bikes to start pedalling. This action happens at the end of the transition area (T1) after having gone across on foot, with the bikes at their side, or, led across by hand, in a specific way (Fernández, Romero, Merino and April, 2015). These are unique aspects of this sport, compared to other sports in which a bike is also used. The purpose of this research was concentrates in describing and classifying the motor behaviours that occur at the end of the transition area, in front of the “judge’s line”. This study was bassed on participants of 3 Spanish Elite Championships of different distances (407 triathletes). It was filmed in the moment when they picked up their bikes, passed through the transition area and mounted their bikes.
